Of Tides and Traditions

In the heart of the ocean, where waves cradle stars,

Where the coral breathes life in mosaic hues (Lobo and Parson, 2023),

Elders gather, bare feet on sacred sands,

To honour an ancient rhythm they never choose to lose (Oviedo and Jeanrenaud, 2007).

Their footsteps echo through the sea and sky,

As they dance to the beat of the ocean's sigh (Morales et al., 2017),

Their voices raise in song, a melody of the sea,

A chorus of life, wild and free.

Their hands weave magic, as they sway and twirl,

Calling forth the spirits of the whirl,

Their laughter and tears, a symphony of the soul (Sadovy, 2005),

A celebration of life, whole.

Their hearts beat as one, a drum of the deep,

A pulse that echoes through the sleep,

Of all who dwell within the ocean's embrace,

A rhythm that forever holds its place.

For in this sacred space, where waves and stars meet (Clifton and Majors, 2012),

The elders keep the beat of life complete,

A tradition passed down through generations of the sea,

A rhythm that is forever wild and free.
